Factiva Discovery in Alert Widgets

Give your organization a quick look at the subjects and trends surrounding your headlines with Factiva Discovery now a part of Factiva Alert Widgets.  When creating an Alert Widget, you can now add that extra layer of Company, Executive, Industry or Subject information that otherwise could be hidden deep within your search results.

To add Factiva Discovery to an Alert Widget, follow the normal instructions to launch the Widget Builder tool.  Once you arrive in the Design area, follow the steps below:

1. Select or Deselect one or more of the Factiva Discovery elements to add to your Factiva Alert Widget (choices are Companies, Executives, Industries and Subjects).  The Headlines link is not an option, because it will always appear in a Factiva Alert Widget.
2. Components can be repositioned by dragging and dropping them to a different order (vertically) in your order of preference by hovering and grabbing with a left click of your mouse.  The Headlines link will always display first so its position cannot be changed.
3. Customize the chart bar colors using the color picker tool. You even have the more refined option of entering the appropriate color hexcode.
4. The preview window applies font/color changes allowing you a peek at the finished product.  Factiva Alert Widgets now display separate tabs for viewing Headlines and/or Factiva Discovery Elements.
5. Choosing your audience and publishing the Factiva Alert Widget remain unchanged, however the look and feel of a published Alert Widget is now different with the display of tabs to view Headlines and/or Factiva Discovery Elements.
6. Dow Jones Factiva users can now self-subscribe to a Personal Alert allowing it to be shared without having to send the email invitation.
